Peggy Foster was already slinging bass in California when she joined The Runaways. She played in bands like Sasparilla and Champion (as well as on two albums of Greek music) before Kim Fowley came calling. Peggy tried out at SIR and became a Runaway as Michael Steele was on the way out. She rehearsed with the band and played several shows before quitting for reasons even she doesn't recall. She didn't have a chance to record for the first album but she was there during the writing of some of the first Runaways songs.
After The Runaways she played in groups like Kid Sapphire, The Nutones and several others and appears on Steve Vai's "Flex-Able" album. Currently she serves on the Board of Advisors for MAP and on the Board of Directors of the Annual Musicians Picnic. She is married and has a daughter who sings and dances, and continues to play bass in a jazz band.
Check out our interview with Peggy from January 2004.
